still struggling with this geezer...bit like Ogbonna...

when the shit hits the fan..they aint interested..kouyate was the same ilk..

Sanchez does at least put a shift in..whether that is enough is soon to be revealed.

i would start Sanchez..Obiang..Wilshire. in midfield..see how it goes

Perez and yarmolenko and arnie

but the defense is shocking..no answers there im afraid..Ogbonna should be marshalling the troops...he is another Upson

Re: Pedro Obiang
Kouyate wouldnt bring anything to this team.

Obiang does & hopefully will. Positionally he's much better than Noble or Wilshere and generally keeps it simple when he gets the ball.

I'm starting to miss Kouyate already...

Never thought I would say that

He, or new bloke need to be in mf for next game, Nobes & Jack don't have the pace & power to control a game.

Re: Pedro Obiang
What Obiang does bring is a bit of height and strength, which imo we're desperately short of right now. Not sure it's a requirement against Arsenal, but for the games beyond that I'd certainly think about playing him.

He's been injured since Jan. It's probably put off most buyers

Or it could be that he’s crap

>>> Until we get a decent replacement in, he shouldn't go anywhere.

I don't think that's a workable principle, though we have seen it at the club in the past I think. The transfer market is too unreliable and it's too difficult to get deals done for principles like this. And it might simply be that there isn't the cashflow to operate this way anyway.

I think you have to get deals done when you can. If the right offer comes in for Obiang you sell.

I thought he was on his way back to Sampdoria. What was the point of him turning out today? He was so poor in the first half, the deal might be revised. Downwards.

Re: Pedro Obiang
The fee being quoted is about the same as we bought him for... in the current climate you would have thought he would be worth a bit more... how long left on his contract? I can’t imagine we would be bothered about giving him a new one so better to cash in if he only has a year left.

We can certainly replace him with better.

Re: Pedro Obiang
I really like Obiang as a player. Sure he's had some poor games but I feel like he wants to play and get the ball forward.
Will be a pity if he goes and doesn't get a chance to play in a more attacking and mobile side.
The fees quoted seem pretty small for his talent and age.
Maybe he is unsettled in which case I'd rather he went overseas than to a club here we'd have to face.

I know Peter Butler went to Perth around 2000 and was involved with the Sorrento club in the northern suburbs.
Then moved around Asia coaching before he was coach of Botswana around 2015.
He is now coaching a team in the Indonesian league according to wiki
